I’m behind paying forward my Kar Karma debt

After a big snowstorm in November 2019, I used my metal detector to help one of my across-the-street neighbors find the key fob she dropped while I was pushing her car out of a snowbank. That may count as double kar karma. I got the metal detector for my unsuccessful hunt for Fenn’s Treasure.

It seems like I’ve always been in debt. There’s the regular, socially acceptable debt like monthly home mortgage payments.

Then there’s unexpected debt, like a medical emergency. When I was on my deathbed back in 2013, I accumulated a huge credit card bill after “refinancing” what I owed the hospital.
